About The 36 streets of the Old Quarter

The Old Quarter’s streets still carry the names of the goods once sold on them: Hàng Gai (hemp, now silk), Hàng Bạc (silver), Hàng Mã (paper goods and lanterns), Hàng Bè, Hàng Buồm. Start at the north end of Hoàn Kiếm Lake, wander up through Hàng Gai and Hàng Bạc to the Bạch Mã Temple on Hàng Buồm, and finish at Đồng Xuân Market.
